Vol.5

Ms Lisette

Nala Designsを、そしてその背景にある想いを、より身近に感じていただけたら嬉しいです。

Meet the Sleigh Queen Skirts

This season needed a little sparkle, so we took something sweet and turned it into something spectacular. Our tutu dresses have been reborn as skirts, upcycled with care and finished with silk taffeta waistbands that give them a new life and a sharper attitude.

The white skirt, Sleigh Queen – Ice, comes in our soy sauce print, a playful pattern that always makes people smile.
The chocolate skirt, Sleigh Queen Hot Chocolate, is created in our beloved Dancing Lady Orchid print in the most perfect chocolate shade. It moves beautifully and feels like it was made for holiday nights.

Both skirts are brand new pieces made from dresses we loved and wanted to reimagine. Sometimes all you need to do is remove the top and let the magic appear.

A little holiday joy, redesigned.

Carols, Hot Chocolate, and a Very Vegan Christmas

Every now and then, you walk into a space and feel instantly inspired. Yesterday was one of those moments. I was invited to the Christmas gathering hosted by Heveya, a beautifully thoughtful bedding company I’ve recently come to know and now deeply appreciate.

Heveya has Belgian roots and a Bali soul, and they are well known in Singapore for their natural rubber mattresses and breathable bamboo sheets. They approach rest with an attention to detail that feels both intentional and refined. And next year, we will be creating a collection together. I cannot wait to share it with you.

But last night wasn’t about business.
It was about atmosphere. Taste. Ideas. And the pleasure of seeing a Christmas celebration done differently.

Instead of the usual festive clichés, Heveya served the most extraordinary 100 percent vegan spread. Elegant, surprising, and genuinely delicious.
Popcorn that made you rethink popcorn. A “foie gras” made entirely from tofu that somehow tasted like the real thing.
Smoked dragon fruit paired with cashew nuts. Hot chocolate that wrapped itself around you like a blanket.

Nothing excessive, everything intentional.

The setting was equally thoughtful. Guests lounged on their signature mattresses and soft sheets, turning the entire space into a living room of comfort. A carol singer arrived and filled the room with warmth. And the crowd, interesting, curious, creative and it reminded me how inspiring it is when people gather without pretense.

It was a gentle reminder that Christmas can be beautiful without the formula.
It can be simple. It can be thoughtful. And yes, it can be entirely vegan.

Here’s to Heveya, for the taste, the courage, and the inspiration.
And to the year ahead, where we will create something beautiful together.
Stay tuned.

Beautiful Gifts for Beautiful People

These are my five favourite gifts this season, all simple, beautiful, and designed to be used every single day. Not every present needs to be expensive. A thoughtful gift that becomes part of someone’s daily life is often the one that stays with them the longest.

First on the list is the very first tote we ever made. It fits a computer perfectly and I will be personalising every tote at our Christmas party. Then there is the oven glove, cheerful and practical for every kitchen moment. Of course the Shupatto bag is on this list. Travel light, travel bright. It has become the one gift everybody wants for Christmas.

We also have our little art pieces. They are only thirty nine ringgit each, signed, and filled with love. For something tiny and sweet, there is the small pouch that always comes in handy. Every gift will be wrapped beautifully because presentation matters and beauty should be shared.

Visit our stores, enjoy the season, and come celebrate with us.

The Maxi Bag Return

The Maxi Bag returns

Our maxi bags are back, and this edition carries even more of the atelier spirit.
Every element on the bag is hand drawn with black ink and pen. You can see the clarity of the strokes, the confidence of the lines, and the little details that only come from drawing by hand.
Nothing is computer generated. It has that unmistakable human touch.

The outside features our deconstructed Bunga Raya print, a hibiscus taken apart and redrawn into bold, contemporary shapes and colours. It feels vibrant without feeling touristy. On the inside sits our Willow Wishes Dandelion pattern. The dandelion symbolises resilient women, so the pairing feels intentional. Strength on the inside, beauty on the outside.

The bags come in two colours and both are fully reversible. Two moods in one piece. We also added a gold Nala embroidery on the outside, a small detail that gives the design a quiet lift.

What has not changed is the practicality. The maxi bag is light, strong, washable, and endlessly useful. Perfect for travel, sport, work, school, groceries, anything. The handles are made from faux leather, which makes it an easy choice for vegetarians or for anyone who prefers to avoid real leather.

A simple, honest, beautifully drawn bag. An everyday companion with an atelier heart.
