These prints are the first in a series called THE JUNGLE SERIES. We have illustrated all the rare flowers in Malaysia’s 13 states and we are launching this incredible collection with PENANG.
This plant grows in Malaysia's cooler climates, such as Penang Hill and Cameron Highlands. Fuchsia is also a vivid purplish red colour, named after the colour of the flower of the fuchsia plant, which was named so by a botanist, Charles Plumier after the 16th century German botanist Leonhart Fuchs. This flower is special to the founders heart as it reminds her of her grandmother who had them around her farm the entire summer.
Another interesting fact the colour fuchsia was first introduced as the colour of a new aniline dye called fuchsine, patented in 1859 by the French chemist Francois-Emmanuel Verguin. The dye was renamed magenta later in the same year, to celebrate a victory of the French army at the Battle of Magenta on June 4, 1859, near the Italian city of that name.
